I should be filing grant reports or responding to investors’ wacky ideas. (No sorry but I really don’t think having a petting zoo in the garden would be a good way to showcase farm to table…can you imagine kids patting lambs and oh hey look what goes so well with mint jelly! Maybe I’m being overly sensitive because I fed guinea pigs overseas with the same disastrous results. They told me to keep giving them lettuce!)
But instead I have so many updates to tell you. I’ll start with just one and then back to the work at hand: we passed the notice period for our alcohol license! You know there can’t be food without drink. Really appreciate you guys stopping by to offer support and getting excited about our progress! Or even just asking what exactly is a pop-uppery food incubator. It’s a mouthful isn’t it? And thanks for intuitively understanding that all it means is that we’re going to have more options for food makers and eaters in the city. And underneath it all, we’re just a neighborhood restaurant.
We put our public notices up…the first one on the right was hastily put up with blue gaffer tape (staying true to our film roots) and already faded but by the time we got to the left one: it’s a thing of beauty enrobed in crystal laminate. Watertight enough to survive those multiple tropical storms and flood warnings. Like our little posters, we continue to evolve and go from janky to swanky…the Cinderella story of our times!
