We’re breaking ground for EatsPlace and Baba’s Cooking School by conducting a test dig. For a small hole, it’s a big deal. We have to dig down to put the commercial kitchen on the lowest level so we can have an expanded dining area.

I felt like an archaeologist. We found a mug fragment: do you think the ancients drank lattes and hot cocoa? I will not let somewhat recent history deter my excitement for finding buried things. We also found a lump of coal. I just know in a few millennia, that thing will be a diamond! We will have our own diamond, and we won’t have to wait that long for EatsPlace to sparkle!
Our architect looks very confident even though the ceiling is at eye level. That’s faith in the design-build process right there.
And did anyone catch the contractor’s footwear? Gives a new meaning to steel-toed boots.
