We talk a lot about dad’s here because my dad was a chef who taught me everything he knew about cooking and living. And I named my food business after him, Baba’s Cooking School. Baba means dad in Mandarin Chinese, and in a lot of other languages too.

But I’m going to focus on my mom. She was a pioneer in computer science, and one of the only women programmers at her company in the seventies. It’s such a huge issue now, but to her credit my mom always thought girls should code, open businesses, and generally do whatever they wanted to do to run the world. So thanks, Mama, I couldn’t have done it without you.
